Steven Perring is a frequent news contributor to YSTV, focusing in particular on historical events and capturing the essence of the University and student opinions on main events. He often acts as historical correspondent giving much needed grounding for a number of reports, including on the History of Roses, the history behind Remembrance Day, and his recent reports recreating archived footage of York. Steven has also reported on a number of key issues, such as the student union elections. The report shown here shows Steve at the National Railway Museum reporting on the exhibition of the Flying Scotsman, evidencing his knowledge of the past, and how that directly evidences the present, for news relevant to both students and the wider community.
